Design
The Maruti Suzuki A-star is an interesting looking car indeed. it's is low slung with its roof tapering to the rear which has nicely detailed tail lamps. Wheel arches have been neatly sculpted and this allows for sporty dimensions, while rising window lines also contribute to these aspects of design - making it more contemporary in appearance overall, as well as differentiating it from other similar models like those made by Audi or Nissan motoring companies. You would never be able to tell that the manufacturing company was Japanese only because it's probably one of those most scintillatingly styled small hatches on sale!.
Engine and Performance
The Maruti Suzuki A-star is the first Maruti Suzuki car in India to be powered by an 3 cylinder K-Series engine while its sister cars. The 1-liter capacity engine produces 66 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 90 newton meters of torque at 3500 rpm. This lightweight motor can accelerate beyond 100 kmph speed in 20 seconds. Automatic transmission feels lazy on upshifts but transitions through speeds are smooth enough for this light vehicle.
The 1.0 litre petrol engine delivers fuel efficiency of 10-12 kmpl and emissions of 109 g/km which are average in class figures. This car has been specially designed for South Asian conditions so you can enjoy the city streets without worry!Â
Safety
The Maruti Suzuki A-star is offering much needed basic safety equipment as standard. This includes ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and Engine Immobilizer for security purposes. However there are no airbags available which would complete this exciting package-it's really disappointing seeing them not available on an optional basis at least!
