Toyota's Most Popular Cars in Sri Lanka
Toyota, one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, has made quite a name for itself with its Prius and Camry models. But there are many other Toyota models that have been produced over the years and contributed to the Toyota legacy. Here are some of the most popular Toyota cars of all time!
Toyota Aqua
Toyota has a long history of making cars for drivers who need vehicles that offer top-notch reliability, great gas mileage and safety features. Take, for example, its Aqua hybrid; it gets an astounding 18 km per litre of petrol! When you factor in increased safety features and its reliable transmission, it’s easy to see why many consider Toyota is one of the leading car manufacturers when it comes to cutting down on fossil fuel consumption. Additionally, Toyota is famous for building eco-friendly options like their Aqua hybrid. While most hybrids come with a hefty price tag due to the technology they contain, Toyota Aqua is known for a hybrid everyone can afford (and enjoy!) behind their trusted name.
Toyota Prius
Since its introduction, Toyota Prius has become one of Toyota’s most popular cars in Sri Lanka. Prius uses what is called a hybrid system that combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The car can run on battery power alone for short distances at low speeds. The first generation Prius was released as a 2000 model, followed by second-generation models in 2003. Third-generation models were introduced in 2009, followed by fourth-generation models starting in 2015. All have won praise from reviewers for their good gas mileage and comfortable ride. However, they are also relatively expensive compared to other small cars. In addition, maintenance costs tend to be higher than those of non-hybrid vehicles because there are more complex components involved. The Prius gets around 16 km per litre of petrol in city driving and 20 km per litre highways.
Toyota Vitz
The Vitz is actually Toyota’s smallest car, but with that small size comes a big amount of personality. This compact car combines great fuel economy with a nimble driving experience and an eye-catching exterior that ensures you stand out from other drivers on the road. It has been around since 2007 so it isn’t a new model, however it still remains popular due to its affordability and reliability. The Vitz is also one of Toyota’s most expensive cars in Sri Lanka being a non-hybrid. Overall it is a fun little car that can be enjoyed by anyone looking for something reliable without sacrificing style or performance.
Toyota Land Cruiser
The official vehicle of VIP's in Sri Lanka, The legendary Land Cruiser was first introduced in 1984 and has been one of Toyota’s most popular cars for good reason. It is tough, reliable, built to last a lifetime, and even has seating for up to 8 people—perfect for larger families or people who like to go off-roading. While it does not have much power under its hood, it makes up for that with its ability to carry large loads. If you need a car that can take you almost anywhere and do so reliably, then look no further than the Land Cruiser.
Toyota C-HR
The C-HR is a small SUV, and while it’s certainly not designed to compete with larger SUVs like the Land Cruiser, it does make sense for people who live in more urban areas in Sri Lanka. The C-HR has been available for about five years now and it is one of Toyota’s newest products. It comes equipped with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine that can deliver up to 144 horsepower and get up to 12 km per litre on highways. For those interested in a high level of luxury, there are plenty of options available, from heated seats to automatic climate control; safety features include blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.
